Mom of 74 children publishes interactive journal
for parents and children.
Amy Etzell, mother of 4 and foster mother to over
70 children, published the “Back and Forth Journal”
for parents and their children. The journal is written and passed
back and forth between a parent and a child to record memories,
thoughts, and dreams between the writers. The book is meant to create
a lasting heirloom for children to have as they grow up.
The Back and Forth journal is a hard-covered, spiral-bound
book that includes biography pages for each parent and child titled
“This is me right now”, there is also a page for the
parent’s and child’s photograph. Ideas on what to write
to your child as well as how to adapt the journal to specific ages
are included.
The Back and Forth journal is perfect for boys
and girls, ages preschool through college. Each journal page is
set up in To/From format. A Back and Forth journal written and passed
twice a week will last about one year.
The mom or dad starts the journal by writing a
letter to their child and places the journal on the child’s
pillow. The child then writes back to the parent and places the
journal on mom or dad’s pillow. The
book travels back and forth with new notes written each time.
The Back and Forth Journal retails at $12.95 and
is available for purchase at backandforthjournal.com.
